This 1860-O Liberty Seated quarter is the final New Orleans Mint issue of the No Motto design, produced on the eve of the Civil War and such is of historical and numismatic significant. From a mintage of 388,000 pieces, fully Mint State survivors with original surfaces are seldom encountered. Both sides display a muted silver-gray base with gentle champagne. The strike is above average for the issue and has some minimal scattered marks in the fields, but none worth mentioning or even seen. A CAC Pop 2 with only 4 finer. The most recent CAC-approved MS63 realized a cheap $2,040 04/25 ST, but with CAC Value at $2,400, PCGS at $2,500 and a non-CAC ms64 at $2,400 08/24 ST this represents an undervalued date.
