1860 $10 XF45 OGH PCGS CAC

Introducing a truly exceptional piece for collectors, the 1860 Liberty Head $10 Gold Eagle. This coin represents a significant rarity within the Liberty Head series, with a limited mintage of only 15,055 pieces and a survival estimate of just 142 examples. Its rarity is on par with some of the most sought-after issues from both earlier and later dates in the series, such as the 1840, 1841, and 1859 issues yet is sold at a fraction of the other pieces. The CAC population for this coin is a mere 4 in this grade, with only 14 finer. But surprisingly a few came out of the Fairmont Collection. This particular specimen is a visual delight, boasting honey-gold surfaces with sharp and well-defined details. Adding to its allure is the fact that it is housed in a rare old green label PCGS holder and warrants consideration for an AU50. A non-OGH CAC XF45 sold in 2024 between $2,640-$2,880 none of which were remotely as nice.
