1859 1C PR65 CACG

The 1859 Indian Head Cent is a one year type specimen and the first proof issued of the series. These specimens can at time deliver outstanding visual and technical quality. This current piece is a proof Gem with only 800 mintages being struck and only half of it estimated to remain today. This rare proof date Indian Head Cent Gem boasts impressively sharp details with attractive mirrored fields. Most examples can be found in PR64 and they quickly become very scarce in PR65. They are also seldom seen with CAC and Photo Seal all in one example. Exhibiting delightful, original coppery-orange gold color surfaces, this specimen can be considered as second to none. Sales comparables of this specimen are a PCGS CAC which sold for $5,040 05/22 HA and an NGC CAC that sold for $7,200 04/21 HA.
