1859 $10 AU50 OGH PCGS CAC

Issued by the Philadelphia Mint, the 1859 Liberty Eagle is an incredibly popular date, as it can be purchased relatively inexpensively for its rarity. Tpically found in VF or EF grade, any finer these become incredibly tough coins. Only a handful of survivors of 142 are estimated today from a mintage of 16,013, as most examples were not able to make it past the Civil War. Encased in an Old Green Holder, this 1859 Liberty Head Eagle specimen showcases uber original quality. It boasts attractive skin and toning and has all the bells and whistles. In our opinion, we see this as a AU53 or AU55. Nonetheless, undoubtedly to be graded higher in today’s standards, a non-OGH nor as choice AU50 PCGS CAC sold for $3,600 03/24 ST. With only very few CAC finer (9) and the 1859 Eagle always in demand among gold enthusiasts and collectors alike one should not hesitate in quickly making a decision in obtaining this piece.
