1858 G$1 PR62 PCGS CAC EX BASS

Traced back to 1972 from famed dealer Julian Leidman then to Bass enbloc SB 11/2000 when it was graded PR62 PCGS and 21 years later still today. From a mintage of just 20 pieces, PCGS estimates 18 are known today in all grades, Walter Breen estimates 10-12, regardless this is the ONLY CAC example in this designation out of approximately 5 in all designations which will cost approximately $50,000+.  This coin has all the bells and whistles and it is by no means common compared to the later dated gold proof issues in the 1870's where PR62 NON-CAC typically sell for around $9,000.

1873 G$1 PR61 NGC CAC ( Mintage 25) $8,850 12/2018 DL

1874 G$1 PR62  NGC  ( Mintage 20) $8,760 11/2021 HA

1876 G$1 PR62 PCGS ( Mintage 20) $9,600 10/2020 HA

As we see all of which were not struck in the 1850's, neither were PCGS CAC PR62, and none of them have the coveted Bass pedigree. Furthermore, this offered coin has deeply contrasted devices with a cameo finish in our eyes. We firmly believe this will one day be in a Cameo designated holder should that matter. A PCGS Price Guide of $11,500. A unique coin in all regards and another unbelievable coin.
