Uncommonly seen in circulated grade, this 1858 Dahlonega gold dollar is struck from a mintage of just 3,477 pieces of which 175 are known today in all grades. In collector grade with cac approval ( 1 out of 9 approved in all grades), this choice xf45 example has attractive natural russet color over evenly worn well surfaces and well struck devices. Since 2010 there have been 4 pcgs xf45 comps none of which were cac approved. The last pcgs xf45 sold for a choice non cac piece for $3,781 09/16 whilst an au50 pcgs for $3,480 01/2020. In all grades from both grading companies there has never been a cac sale.
