1858 1c proof Flying Eagles are overshadowed by the ever popular 1856 1c Flying Eagle. However, the 1858 1c pr issue is countless times more rare. From a mintage of only 200 with an estimated 80 survivors, compared to 1,500 minted 1856 1c. In the offered example, which is graded PR65 with photo seal and cac approval, the last cac comp was in 2015 for $35,250, while a month later in 2015 a pr65+ cac example sold again for $35,250. None of which were photo sealed though were cac approved. This example is fully struck as expected with no marks or blemish worth mentioning.
