1857-S G$1 MS61 PCGS CAC

Extremely important issue, coin, mint, grade and date combination. Truly underrated issue from a mintage of 10,000 only 130 are known today in all grades with only 6 estimated in all grade uncirculated. Of the 6, three are CAC. 2 in 61 and 1 in 62. Thus obtaining one with an example such as this is no easy feat. An over-looked issue due to S.S Central America hoard of 1857-S $20. Unlike its $20 sibling, G$1 is actually incredibly rare. No COMPS are known for any CAC unc nor any PCGS UNC has sold in over 15 years making price guides out of date. This important date was not affected by S.S Central America, a testament to the coins absolute rarity. The last sale was a PCGS MS61 for $9,200 11/2006 HA, 16 years ago and a NON-CAC. This opportunity will not arise again.
