1857 10C PR67+ PCGS CAC

Mintage 70. PCGS Pop 1/0. CAC 1/0. Single Finest. Regardless of designation of which none other exists, this is the single finest Proof 1857 Liberty Seated Dime. Early proof liberty seated coinage are of a different caliber to the later issues. Considered by seated collectors and numismatists as true rarities, these early proof commands great respect among specialists. Given their minuscule mintage, this present specimen is no exception. From a mintage of 70, 50 are known today in all grades and conditions. No example has ever sold in PR67+ let alone a CAC example even in PR67. PCGS Price Guide $30,000. A non-cac lower grade PR67 Kaufman specimen that has a clear stain mark near the date in our opinion an over-graded has appeared as an NGC PR67 and sold several times. This present and offered example is far and away the single best with dazzling sun-yellow over aqua-marine centers that expands to bold ruby red and purple on the obverse, to bright pastel hues on the reverse. No doubt this example will be a prize for any collection and is the best.
