Only an Estimated 10 S-2 exists - Pop 1 Finest. Highly undervalued by any measure, the 1856 Flying Eagle Cent, Snow-2 variety, PCGS PR64, stands as an elite rarity within American numismatics. The Snow-2 attribution is easily identified by several defining diagnostics, most notably the die line or "tail" extending from the base of the "U" in UNITED, along with a boldly punched first digit in the date that stands high in relation to the adjacent "856," and the presence of a high leaves reverse design. This example offers deeply reflective proof mirrors, particularly vibrant on the obverse, which radiates a rich, golden-bronze hue enhanced by soft, iridescent overtones. The zoom in imaging highlights small spots across the surfaces—a feature that, while visible in magnified photography, appears not as noticeable under natural light or standard viewing conditions which can also be seen in the second pair of imaging. While the PCGS population report this example as the single finest, there is one other PR64 CAM which sold for over $50,000 in 2021/2022, before the publication and awareness of the actual rarities. The surfaces retain crisp, reflectivity and present with richly original toning. The obverse and reverse is adorned in a dynamic blend of golden-bronze and fiery amber, with copper-orange radiating through the central fields, accented by a halo of violet-blue and steely lilac. PCGS Graded, CAC Approved & Eagle Eye Photo Sealed.
