1855 10C ARROWS VF30 PCGS CAC

This 1855 Liberty Seated Dime represents the final year of the "With Arrows" subtype, which ran from 1853 to 1855. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, with a mintage of 2,075,000, it is estimated that only about 700 examples have survived. PCGS reports a population of just 15 coins in this grade, while CAC has certified only 4 examples, with 25 graded higher. A nice AU55 PCGS CAC sold for $504 03/23 SB. The piece exhibits beautiful light to medium autumn-brown, powder-blue, and sepia brown toning, and its surfaces are problem-free. This subtype was introduced to signal a reduction in the weight of the dime, and by 1855, sufficient quantities were in circulation to conclude the production of this design. Great type coin at an affordable price point.
