1853 1C MS65+ RD PCGS CAC

This beautiful Red 1853 1C MS65+ piece originates from a mintage of 6,641,131 of which only 0.015% are known to exist in red. Its original red luster endlessly swirls around on both the obverse and reverse. The strike is well-struck but sharper in the center than the edge as typically seen. The surface satiny and boldly lustrous making this specimen a real representative of its kind. It is an incredible coin with no marks whatsoever to be found. In our opinion, this piece technically belongs at a higher grade than what it is at the moment, but perhaps net due to small spots.

The specimen has authentic premium quality which would without a doubt make an important addition to anyone’s quality type set or an advanced early copper collection. There are only 3 finers known in CAC and its impressive preservation definitely has a lot to offer to the collector. Though no MS65+ RD CAC sales have sold, non-PLUS CAC comparables sold for $5,760 10/23 HA and $12,000 08/23 ST. This better date 1853 1C coin is truly a beauty of a coin to obtain for any collector, and showcases potential upside.
