One of the more underated P-Mints, 1852 Liberty Head Half Eagle No Motto though had a respectable mintage of 573,901 pieces, the vast majority entered circulation, leaving an estimated survival of only about 750 coins in all grades today. This example shows warm frosty honey-gold surfaces and is accented by delicate pinkish highlights and vibrant original luster, creating eye appeal that immediately distinguishes this premium-quality example. The overall presentation is one of superior quality, with a pleasing combination of originality, strike, and surface integrity that places this coin among the more desirable survivors of the issue. PCGS has certified a single example in MS62+ while CAC reports just nine finer. No public auction record could be located for a PCGS MS62+ CAC specimen; however, a non-CAC MS62+ sold for $5,005 08/2013 SB last. The current PCGS Price Guide value is $4,500, and the last two CAC-approved PCGS example sold 4 years ago from the Fairmont collection between $3,840 to $4,800, whilst NGC MS63 non-CAC have sold for close to $5,000.
