1851-O 25C AU50 NGC

Rare New Orleans Liberty Seated Quarter, 1851-O 25C from a mintage of 88,000 approximately 500 are known today in all grades. The estimate is high considering only about 50 are graded in all grades by NGC and about 125 by PCGS. In the lowest of conditions, this coin will cost $500-$1,000 which will be up to F15. Any finer the rarity and price both climb. In UNC 1851-O 25C becomes a conditional rarity and experiences another surge in value, as such AU is a recommended price point. This offered coin has beautiful pinkish colors seen through the surface both on the obverse and reverse and is problem free, with no marks or hits. The color absolutely pops in hand. At NGC AU50 is a Pop 3 and Pop 1 at PCGS. Price Guide $4,250. There has been only one sale in the past decade which was in 2014 at $3,000, even looking at surrounding grades there have been close to no sales in the past decade from XF40, which sold for $3,000 a decade ago, until MS61. A great coin that appears to be under-rated.
