1850-O $10 AU55 PCGS

Popular Pre-Civil War New Orleans Eagles, 1850-O $10 is rare in all grades with most found in VF and XF. In AU or finer, this date becomes incredibly rare with only 2 or 3 known in UNC. Nearly every known example is either heavily abraded or have been cleaned and striped of its natural patina. The current piece has original choice medium green-gold color and is seen with ample luster through out, both rare features that are hardly seen on 1850-O $10. From a mintage of 57,500 eagles, few have survived in high grades with only about 200 known in all grades. PCGS Price Guide of $8,000 with 2 comps, a AU55 PCGS CAC example 5 years ago for $10,800, which in today's market will sell for considerably more, and an NGC AU58 for $8,400 02/20 HA whilst one grade higher in AU58 PCGS CAC via the Fairmont Collection sold for $31,200 04/22 ST AU58 PCGS CAC. Safe to say these are rare and this will be a prized example.
