1850-D $5 VF30 PCGS CAC

Though not widely known, the 1850-D half eagle is one of the rarest Dahlonega half eagles and is a scarce date in all grades. Originating from a mintage of only 43,984 issues, this current example is one of the 175 survivors estimated to survive today. Typically seen heavily abraded, this specimen rather displays smooth surfaces with superb eye appeal. With a CAC Pop of only 2 and 24 finer, and the only relevant comp would be a XF40 PCGS CAC for $4,320 08/23 ST. With increased demand finding a CAC Rare Date Dahlonega in VF under $4,000 represents significant value.
