1850 $2.5 MS61 PCGS CAC

Highly under-valued 1850 Liberty Quarter Eagle. From a mintage of over 250,000, only 250 are known today in all grades, yet these are a considered only slightly better than a common date. In uncirculated these are tough and in CAC these are even tougher to find. The rarity of these is unknown to the public thanks to other surrounding dates which are more readily available for example 1851, 1852 and 1853 $2.5 all have mintages over 1,00,000 with the number of survivors also many times higher than 1850. Thus we believe 1850 $2.5 serves as a great purchase. At MS61, there has been only 1 CAC sale which was a NGC MS61 CAC example that sold for $1,260 04/22 HA. The present example is extremely lustrous for the grade and has excellent yellow gold color. PCGS Price Guide $1,500, CAC Value $1,500. 

You would be hard-pressed to find a better MS61 regardless of date or type.
