1849 $10 AU53 PCGS

1849 Eagles have a mintage of 653,618 pieces with an estimated 625 pieces that exist today in all grades. Though most are found in Very Fine or Extremely Fine grades, high-grade examples from AU and higher are more scarce and are comparable to the 1847 and 1847-O $10 rarity. Fully struck, the surfaces are original, not cleaned though perhaps a bit too chatty for CAC. This piece would serve well for someone looking for a No Motto $10 for their type set that is not only from the 1840's but also priced reasonably for its rarity. No recent comps are present since gold has hovered around $2,000. In comparison, we find our AU priced extremely well.
