The 1847 $10 Liberty Head is an early and important issue within the Liberty Head eagle series, with an estimated surviving population of approximately 800 examples, and this sharply struck, premium-quality coin stands out for its originality and overall visual integrity, making it an excellent candidate for an advanced gold type or date-focused collection. No evidence of spotting or discoloration are noted. Both sides display cohesive orange-gold. CAC Price Guide value of $3,400, with a CAC population of 16 and 29 graded higher. Considering melt is at approximately $2,300 coupled with the fact that this coin is CAC and from the 1840s and has only 800 examples compared to some of the early 1900s we see this as a no brianer.
