1846 1C TALL MS66 BN PCGS CAC

The Single Finest 1846 1C Tall Braided Cent. 1846 1C is seen in three types: Small, Middle and Tall. The Small Date type is the most common approximately 5-8 times less rare whilst this Tall type the rarest. With a total estimate of 500 survivors in all grades and only 25 in Uncirculated, the 1846 1C Tall date is a major conditional rarity. This present and newly graded fresh example is the finest Tall example in all designations. Approximately 10-15% red is seen and there is clear evidence to warrant a RB designation. Why it was not designated as RB we are unsure. Regardless this is the finest. Note, this coin was previously a MS66+ BN NGC CAC, as such when crossed the NGC pop 1 and CAC pop 1 shows a duplicate, we are having this corrected, but this is the only single superb gem with or without CAC. No comps or APR sale exists. With a blow out coin like this, this coin will not be offered once locked in a permanent collection for an important coin.
