Superb conditional rarity of one of only 105 known 1846 Liberty Eagles in all grades. The finest is one pcgs ms62+ in the Simpson Collection and that may well be the same coin that shows ngc ms62. There is one pcgs ms61 with never a sale. Only comps are a grade lower pcgs ms60 that sold in 2018 for $40,800 and an inferior MS60 PCGS at $34,800. At ms61 pcgs price guide lists this at $47,000 given that 13 years ago in 2008, two ngc ms62 examples sold for $51,750 and $40,250. The current example shows absolute no hint of wear on the high points and sufficient luster is present coupled with proof-like surfaces. A true near finest undervalued liberty eagle rarity.
