1845-O $2.5 VF35 PCGS CAC
1845-O $2.5 VF35 PCGS CAC
Liberty Head Quarter Eagle
The 1845-O is the single rarest quarter eagle from New Orleans. Only 70-80 exist from a mintage of 4,000 and this date is especially hard to locate in collector grades with solid eye appeal. Paradime Coins is pleased to have placed several important 1845-O $2.5, which is even rarer than most Charlotte and Dahlonega $2.5. No official mintage in the Mint Report exists for this 1845-O $2.5 with the date only known until an announcement in the December 1894 Numismatist. This example is toned with deep orange-gold hues. The surfaces are smooth and nearly perfect and with a CAC approval. Incredibly rare to find. As one would expect no CAC sale has occurred, save for an NGC XF45 CAC which sold for $9,000 01/22 HA.
