1845-O $10 REPUNCHED DATE AU55 NGC

PCGS Price Guide $10,000 with an estimated total population of just 25 individual 1845-O $10 Repunched date in all grades. A spectacular gold Eagle with a lot going for the specimen as a conditional rarity, a New Orleans mint example, boldy struck repunched variety, and most importantly its spectacular mahogany sun-tan brown toning. The date is boldly repunched as the secondary digits are visible under the initial digits. The 1845-O is one of the scarcer New Orleans Mint eagles from the 1840s and any example finer than AU53 is very rare and premium. In AU55 there have been several comps thanks to the Fairmont Collection; however, the present example as we can see from the color is completely different, original and prized for a top toned gold collection. No CAC nor toned AU55 has ever sold.
