1844-O 50C MS63 PCGS CAC

Tough and underrated New Orleans Mint Seated Liberty Half Dollar. From a mintage of over 2,000,000 pieces only 600 are estimated today in all grades. In Uncirculated these coins become very rare and difficult to obtain. With olive-gold, rose-gray and silver-white elements showcasing a lustrous finish, this coin displays some of the "old-silver" sheen we all like, whilst peeking in between a myriad of subtle coloring, specifically aqua-marine. The Seated Half is well-struck and virtually free of distracting abrasions, and is clearly choice for the grade. At MS63 PCGS CAC, only 2 are known, the Eliasberg example and this, with the last sale being almost 10 years ago for $4,112 which was original but lacks the eye appeal that this example has. Today with a CAC Price Guide of $5,000 and no CAC sale in UNC in any grade since then, we strongly believe this represents great value today.
