Liberty Seated Quarter

A wonderfully original and exceptionally appealing example of this often overlooked condition rarity among early No Motto Liberty Seated quarters. Both obverse and reverse present strong underlying mint luster that remains vibrant beneath a natural overlay of accents of blue, green, orange and red hues on the obverse. Struck during a period when bimetallism functioned effectively in U.S. commerce, the 1840s saw relatively limited demand for quarter dollars, resulting in modest mintages from the Philadelphia Mint. As such, true Mint State survivors of the 1844 issue are scarce, with an estimated survival of just 500 pieces. This premium quality example represents a significant opportunity for the advanced collector, particularly with CAC populations limited to just 3 in grade with 11 finer and a CAC Price Guide value of $2,250.
