1843 $2.5 AU55 NGC CAC

One of the most under-rated dates in the Liberty Quarter Eagle series, 1843 $2.5 from a mintage of 100,546, only 125 are known today, 0.12% Survivors, yet even fewer are CAC 5 at au55 and a total of 10 for all coins greater than AU55! With a PCGS price guide, $1,500 and a CAC Price Guide of $1,500 and no CAC sale ever for any surrounding date, but a NON CAC PCGS AU55 sold 02/22 $1,250 DL. Save to say we are huge fans of this coin. In fact, the 1843 Quarter Eagle appears to be the rarest Quarter Eagle of the year, even more rare than the 1843-C and 1843-D Quarter Eagles, yet sell at a fraction of the branch mint dates.
