1839-O 50C XF45 PCGS CAC

The 1839-O Capped Bust Half Dollar Reeded Edge graded XF45 by PCGS and approved by CAC, is a popular key issue for the New Orleans representative. With an estimated survival of approximately 2,000 pieces across all grades, both sides display an even blanket of dusky dove-gray. The legend and denomination remaining bold and evenly impressed; the lightly repunched mintmark south is visible under magnification and adds subtle interest for the specialist over how the mintmark remains on the Obverse ( GR-1). The surfaces are balanced and problem-free for a circulated New Orleans issue, and the CAC endorsement confirms the coin’s high quality within the grade. CAC Price today is $4,300 with no PCGS CAC sale; however, most recently a non-CAC AU50 PCGS sold for $4,148 01/26 HA (non-CAC), and this should bring more.
