Out of a mintage of 2,225,000, only 200 1838 H10C NO DRAPERY SMALL STARS are known today. Despite the minuscule number of survivors, this coin is still affordable in all grades. The present piece a fresh example is firstly under-graded in our opinion, and should au-55 or au-58. Nonetheless, regardless of the grade, this 1838 H10C is special for its eye appeal and color. With lustrous clashes of bright blue to orange centers, both the obverse and reverse displays unconventional amounts of luster especially seen through the peripheries. One of the most visually stunning and toned examples for a circulated Half Dime. There are no comps for such color or toning.
