1837 50C AU53 NGC

1837 50C Reeded Edge is among a great short group of dates from 1836 to 1839. They are one of the most beautifully designed issues and this example does not fail to deliver. Likely toned from a Wayte Raymond holder, the obverse is highly attractive which features transition from sea-blue to royal-purple to yellow-gold. A great coin which seldom features such color on a circulated issue.
