1834 $2.5 AU55 PCGS CAC

Classic Head Quarter Eagles are among some of our favorite designs. A visual masterpiece for this gold $2.5 series, 1834 is the first year of issue from a mintage of 112,234 of which 1,750 exist today. Some very high grade examples have been saved and as such almost one in any grade can be found at the right price. AU and finer this Quarter Eagle becomes very rare. At AU55 the last CAC sale was for $3,120 08/22 ST. We like this coin more and it is a perfect AU with even wear and attractive yellow-gold patina.
