1832 1C MEDIUM MS62 BN PCGS CAC

The 1832 Large Cent, Medium Letters subtype, graded MS62 Brown by PCGS and further endorsed by CAC, is an exceptionally attractive and original example that far exceeds typical brown expectations for the designation. The obverse is adorned in rich, glossy chocolate-brown surfaces illuminated by vibrant copper-orange highlights that radiate from the protected areas around the stars and devices, creating a striking halo effect around Liberty’s portrait. The overall eye appeal is outstanding for the grade, with a pleasing balance of color, luster, and preservation that distinguishes it as a high-end example. As a scarce and often overlooked subtype, this Medium Letters issue is seldom encountered with CAC approval at this level, with a population of just 1/7 and no confirmed CAC transactions in MS62. Despite a mintage of 2,362,000 pieces, only an estimated 1,000 examples survive today across all grades, making the issue far scarcer than its original production suggests.
