Absolute Key Date King Capped Bust Dime rarity, 1829 10C Curl Base 2 is the most popular date for the entire issue. With an estimate of only 40 pieces in all grades. This present example is Tied For Second Finest at PCGS & Finest At NGC. There have been no comparable sales unless we go back between 5 to 7 years ago when two different examples sold. A choice PCGS VF30 for $32,900 05/15 HA which is tied with this example, and a PCGS VF30 for $15,275 01/17 HA that upgraded and sold right a few months later as a PCGS VF35 for $25,850 06/17 HA, 6 years ago in a much weaker market, the one finer. No other VF example has sold in any grades. This newly graded example eye appeal far exceeds the above two and nearly all other Curl Base 2 with attractive silver grey patina. Whilst still retaining luster between the devices, the surface is exemplar for the issue and only two hits near the dates are seen which pale in comparison to the rarity that is being offered. This is an extremely important offering for any Capped Bust dime collector and investor in U.S Numismatics. An opportunity to acquire the finest and most rare Capped Bust Dime will not arise again.
