Capped Bust Quarter Eagles are rare in all dates, type and condition. The offered example, type two, which spans only 4 years include 1821, 1824/1, 1825, 1826/'5' and 1827. The clear rarest is 1824/1, whilst the other 3 are more or less of equal rarities. This specimen is one of 4,434 minted of which 125 exist today in all grades and condition. At AU58 PCGS CAC there exists 1 recent comp, a AU58 PCGS CAC that sold 05/18 LE for $36,245, whilst and a AU58+ PCGS CAC sold 10/19 LE for $38,775. Of other comp note a 1827 $2.5 AU58 PCGS CAC also sold 08/19 HA for $36,000, all establishing a clear indication of value and demand. Ultra popular for type, this 1825 $2.5 example presents ample luster seen throughout the obverse and reverse. Between the field and devices we see radiant orange fiery red intertwined with beautiful soft yellow gold. No doubt a highly original example with a fully struck head and eagle more so than any other 1825. A rare coin with full dentils that will be a highlight to any type or investment profile.
