1825 Half Cent is an important date in the Classic Head Half Cent series. Overshadowed by the key and popular 1811 1/2C, this 1825 actually has a lower mintage than the 1811. 1825 1/2c has long been recognized as undervalued and represents an excellent opportunity to acquire an important coin for the series and one of the finest at that. There are likely no more than 5 coins tied at the MS65 level which includes 2 at MS65+, the finest, despite some inflated pop from resubmissions, crossovers and crack-outs. Nonetheless, this GEM is still one of if not the finest. The last MS65 PCGS CAC sold was the Missouri Cabinet and Pogue example that sold for $18,000 08/22 HA. The current piece features hints of RB within the recess and devices, a rare occurrence for the 1825 half cent date, given very few have received the RB designation. The piece is mark free with no hits and is housed in an Old Green Holder. Extremely premium for the grade. Overall an excellent date that is not only undervalued but also has all the bells and whistles for being one of the finest 1825 Half Cent.
