1822 10C VG08 PCGS CAC

Popular and Key Date to the Capped Bust Dime series, 1822 10C with its small mintage for the series(100,000) and with its even smaller number of survivors (200) or 0.2% survivor, we can see why it is incredibly rare and more valuable than 1809 and 1811 10c despite their smaller mintages. A quick peek into the PCGS Population Report shows that PCGS has certified fewer 1822 Dimes than any other date in the series. In Mint State, no other Capped Bust Dime date is as rare as the 1822. The present example certified and graded VG08 has all major design elements present and visible, but beyond this coin being CAC approved it also has eye appeal more than the common circ-look with some sky-blue color over the surface. A lovely Lowball example with perfect eye appeal and a PCGS Price Guide of $3,000. The last VG08 CAC example sold 9 years ago and there has been no comparable sale since then, a NON-CAC NON-PCGS example sold for $2,760 6 years ago. There has been no other CAC example sold in the past 9 years except for a MS63 CAC 7 years ago for $35,000+. A must buy key date.
