1814 50C O-105a SINGLE LEAF AU55 PCGS CAC

One of the most popular Red Book Capped Bust Half Varieties, 1814 50C Single Leaf O-105a is a key date known to all Bust Nut Collectors. Caused by extreme die polishing, the 1814 50C three leaves were reduced to one single leaf on the reverse. The rims on the reverse surrounding United show attractive rim cud all adding tremendous appeal to this rare variety. Collectors actively seek high grade examples contributing much to the Condition Census. At AU55 this is a PCGS POP 3 with only 4 finer, but likely one of the finest CAC approved example. The only comp and apr in the past few years in the surrounding grades are 2 grades lower for AU50. At AU55, no comps are seen let alone PCGS, NGC or CAC, though CAC Price Guide is $7,500, whilst we believe PCGS Price Guides are respectfully not updated for the higher grades given 2 grades lower, AU50 CAC have sold for between $3,000-$6,000. Safe to say this is one of the finest Single Leaf variety which shows an abundance of luster considering the extreme die polish. A rare date and variety whose opportunity will not present itself again.
