This 1814 Capped Bust Dime represents the rare Large Date variety, distinguished by an oversized "8" in the date that extends above the adjacent "1s". With a survival estimates of only 575 examples exist across all grades, this is one of the more sought after within the series. The PCGS population report notes just 20 examples graded XF40, with this specimen being one of only four to receive CAC approval. The coin features outstanding eye appeal, with a vibrant blend of saffron, electric blue, lime, lemon, and dark amber tones accentuated by die cracks on the shield. This example is a JR-4 variety, known for its lack of a period after the denomination "10C" on the reverse. The last record was was for $840 01/21 HA which was neither toned nor CAC. This example speaks volume for the superb color and originality.
