1808 50C XF45+ PCGS

Second year minted Capped Bust Half Dollar Lettered Edge, 1808 is a turn of the century 50c with examples available in most grades but becomes tough and rare in AU and finer. This unique examples is a spectacular specimen destined for a collectors that thrives on uniquely toned and superbly toned examples. Not only are the devices fully struck and denticles centered for the an 1808 50c, this example is also uniquely graded a pop 2 "XF45+" A plus seen on AU is usually rare, but on XF almost unique. Besides the technical grade, the coin stands most importantly because of the color: centered with purple over rustic brown fading out to royal and sea blue to a motley of concoctions. A superb example with some clear luster seen on the obverse.
