O-105a. R.2, as seen by the strong doubling in T in LIBERTY. The 1806 Draped Bust Half Dollar is a rare and historically significant piece of early U.S. coinage, with only approximately 300 specimens estimated to have survived from its original mintage of 839,576. Originally holdered as a Large Stars which PCGS later designated all to Knob 6, so this should be a Knob 6 Small Stars with PCGS# 6075. This problem-free example showcases exceptional craftsmanship and aesthetic appeal, with the obverse featuring soft silver-gray patina that transitions into vibrant hues of gold, copper, and iridescent blue and green along the peripheral edge. No relevant auction comps exists though a common-date CAC without toning is suggested at $1,250 with both the PCGS & CAC Price Guide, but a slightly toned though inferior VF30 PCGS CAC sold for $1,800, while another toned example from this issue in XF40 PCGS CAC sold for $3,120 01/25 HA.
