Key date for the Draped Bust Quarter series, 1804 25C is overshadowed compared to the 1796 25C as the first year issue. While the 1796 commands higher prices, 1804 is rare as there are only 387 survivors compared to 1796's 650 survivors even though both have the same mintage. The offered example is joyful with tremendous character for a vg10, with hints of circ cameo as well as toning between the devices. There are no recent comps for this PCGS VG10 CAC example; however, a two grades lower example G06 sold for $5,500 while an NGC F12 CAC sold for $8,750. At VG10 there was one CAC sale 6 years ago for $6,462, a testament to how in frequently choice examples sell.
