1804 1C G06 PCGS

Key Date to the Draped Bust Cent series, 1804 1C with only 1 die variety S-266 where all 1804 1C have a very interesting and beautiful cud over the RTY in LIBERTY with some depending on die-state also on the reverse having a cud MERIC in America, like this example, both of which is very deep and character adding. Relatively affordable up until VG any finer than VG, 1804 1C becomes extremely rare and pricey. In fact even in AU55, an example sold for $155,000 01/22 HA! The present example has superb surface for the grade, with all details outlined well. A near flaw-less example. There are no-marks just honest wear, which we thought this coin should have graded higher than G06. Nonetheless, a G06 PCGS NON-CAC recently sold 05/22 HA for $3,840 (slightly damaged in the center), with one before 3 years ago for $3,150 08/19 SB( a bent example). Comparing the aforementioned 2 to this, the pictures speak volume to which is clearly better and attractive, as the surface is spot-less, mark-free and with attractive chocolate brown patina.
