This 1800/1798 Draped Bust Cent, certified FR02 by CACG and exhibiting the Head of 1797, offers an outstanding opportunity to acquire one of the most visually compelling overdates in the early U.S. copper series. The dramatic repunching of the date, with remnants of 1798 or 1799 clearly visible beneath the first digit of 1800, remains evident even in this circulated example—an impressive diagnostic detail that speaks to its significance in the die sequence of the era. The coin's surfaces are smooth and original, displaying a rich chocolate-brown coloration with subtle auburn and steel accents concentrated in protected areas. Liberty's portrait, while softly rendered from extended circulation, remains identifiable, and the obverse fields show honest, age-appropriate wear without signs of cleaning or damage. With an estimated 800 survivors across all grades and no CAC-approved examples recorded in higher numerical condition, this coin is well-suited for early copper enthusiasts building a Sheldon variety set, a lowball type set, or any collection focused on transitional design diagnostics. A 1800/1799 1C P01 PCGS CAC sold for $216 03/20 ST.

Note - we believe this is very likely a 1800/79 and was mislabelled as 1800/1798, but regardless its of similar rarity and value, perhaps even slightly rarer in fact as the correct 1800/79.
