This 1795 Flowing Hair Half Dime, certified XF45 by PCGS and approved by CAC, represents the rare V-9, LM-5 die marriage—an acknowledged R.6 variety and one of the most elusive pairings within the 10 recognized die marriages for the year. While LM-8, LM-9, and LM-10 appear with some regularity, the earlier marriages, including LM-5, are rarely encountered in any grade, and this example stands as a well-preserved and notably attractive circulated survivor. The strike is even and complete, with well-defined borders, visible clash marks, and subtle radial die cracks around the reverse periphery—classic diagnostics for the marriage.
