This 1795 Draped Bust Dollar, BB-52, B-15 more commonly known as Centered Bust stands as a distinguished and visually appealing representative of the first year of the iconic Draped Bust design paired with the Small Eagle reverse. This variety features the corrected Centered Bust placement—an intentional refinement from the earlier BB-51 or known also as the Off-Center type—struck using one of just two known die marriages for the 1795 Draped Bust silver dollars. The obverse is dressed in a uniform silver-gray tone and both sides display a soft matte texture with no signs of artificial enhancement or cleaning, reinforcing the coin’s originality and contributing to its CAC approval. Overall, this piece offers luminous, undisturbed surfaces and commendable eye appeal for the assigned grade. Historically, the 1795 Draped Bust, Small Eagle dollar marks a significant turning point in early U.S. coinage.  There has been no CAC-approved VF20 public sale since 2011. Today, the PCGS Price Guide lists the value at $6,500, whilst CAC at $6,000, but would be impossible to acquire any CAC, given the only CAC example to sell in reason years is a AU58 NGC CAC that sold for $66,000 08/24 HA, though a VF25 NGC CAC did sell for $7,374 08/2013 HA.
