Issued from 1793 until 1797, the Liberty Half Cent was the first half cent coin produced by the United States Mint. With a mintage of 81,600, the 1794 Half Cent was newly minted with the head of the Liberty facing to the right in contrast to the 1793 Liberty Cap Half Cent that is facing left. The 1793 Half Cent coins possess two sub-types of Low-Relief Head and High-Relief Head with only the former consisting of Large and Small Letter edge variants, and this representing the latter.

This green-label PCGS specimen represents exceptional and pleasing qualities as it exhibits a smooth and lustrous surface with hazel brown patina. In our assessment, this coin’s quality is undoubtedly finer than an XF40 with serious claims to an AU50, with its excellent surface reminiscent of a higher grade along with its luster that can be seen on the reverse. This piece is considered incredibly valuable for its grade as it is a gorgeous, wholesome example of this popular coin.

This coin would be an exceptionally pleasing coin to acquire and add into one’s collection as it only consists of a CAC POP of 8. Last comparable CAC sold for $9,600 08/21 ST for an XF45, whilst an AU50 CAC for more. Nonetheless, this specimen is an OGH CAC making it comparable to none other.
