1828 25C MS63 NGC

The 1828 is the final quarter dollar in the Capped Bust Quarter Large Size series. Its mintage is split between Normal 1828s and the scarcer 25/50 variety, of which the Normal 1828s are represented by three different die varieties: 1, 2, and 4. This coin is accessible in lower grades, but is rare and more costly in MS63 and higher. The highest-graded coins are MS64 and above, with the majority graded as MS65. It is worth noting that the 1828 Browning 1, which is the coin here, has a reverse shared with the ultra-rare Half A Million Mid 6 Figure, Original 1827 Quarter. This delightful piece is adorned with sea-green, powder-blue, and almond-gold tones, and exhibits minimal abrasions. Its strike is sharp, and the fields are mirrored. A captivating choice for the connoisseur. This exact example sold over 10 years ago in 2013 for $7,050. We dare say this time their photos highlights some of the colors better than ours. Since then a few have sold with un-attractive example selling typically for over $5,000 and attractive examples like this for $7,000, $8,000 and even $13,000.
