A Gold CAC Proof Franklin Offering Upgrade-Caliber Quality, Striking Cameo Contrast and Coveted Early PCGS Holder Appeal.

With an impressive original appearance, this 1962 Franklin Half Dollar Proof displays deeply mirrored fields that provide outstanding contrast against sharply frosted devices. Benjamin Franklin's portrait is boldly struck, with every strand of hair and the folds of the bust exhibiting razor-sharp definition. The mirrored fields remain remarkably clean for the assigned grade, showing only the lightest scattered hairlines expected of a carefully preserved proof. Delicate champagne-gold peripheral toning frames portions of the obverse and reverse, adding warmth and originality without distracting from the brilliant reflective surfaces. Housed in an increasingly desirable early PCGS Old Green Holder (Rattler) and further endorsed with a coveted CAC Gold sticker, this coin represents a significant condition rarity. A comparable NGC PR66 Gold CAC example most recently realized $432 in a Stack's Bowers sale in December 2024, illustrating the strong premium collectors place on Gold CAC-approved proof Franklins. The combination of exceptional originality, premium quality within the grade, desirable early PCGS holder, and elite CAC Gold status makes this an outstanding opportunity for the advanced Franklin Half Dollar or Gold CAC registry collector.
