The 1939-D Mercury Dime is widely recognized as one of the finest struck issues of the late-series Denver Mint emissions, and this MS68 FB+ example graded by PCGS and approved by CAC represents an extraordinary Superb Gem at the pinnacle of preservation and eye appeal. Both sides display exceptional originality and dramatic multicolored toning that immediately commands attention. Striking bands of vivid, untoned silver sweep across the central obverse, creating a striking visual contrast against surrounding waves of deep crimson-red toning that blend seamlessly into shades of violet, olive-green, and warm gold. This natural color progression continues across the reverse, where the fasces and olive branches are fully defined with outstanding sharpness, the Full Bands designation clearly evident with crisp separation across the horizontal bands.
