1913 $10 MS65 PCGS CAC
1913 $10 MS65 PCGS CAC
A Near-MS66 Indian Eagle with Exceptional Surface Quality, CAC Approval and Standout Condition-Census Appeal.
Struck in the same year that the Federal Reserve Act reshaped the nation’s financial system, the 1913 Indian eagle represents an important period in the history of American gold coinage. From an original mintage of 442,000 coins, approximately 17,250 examples are estimated to survive. This sparkling Gem Uncirculated ten-dollar gold piece is impressive even beyond normal expectations for the assigned grade. The typical Mint State 1913 grades between MS62 and MS64; examples are scarce in MS65 and rare at this level with CAC endorsement. 1913 $10 is rarer than 1911, 1910, 1910-D, 1926 & 1932. Sharply struck devices reveal excellent definition throughout. Radiant mint luster rolls freely across remarkably clean, fine-grained fields, illuminating vibrant peach-orange and yellow-gold surfaces with virtually no significant distractions. The outstanding preservation, exceptional surface quality, and splendid eye appeal are confirmed by CAC. Although a few dozen finer examples have been certified, only two are reported with CAC approval; in hand, one wonders how many MS66 coins would meaningfully surpass this captivating Gem. Among the finest MS65 examples we have encountered, it offers eye appeal approaching the next grade and would make an exceptional type coin or a defining highlight in an advanced Indian Head eagle collection. CAC Price $15,000. Truly looks like a MS66, compare to the other MS65 PCGS CAC we have and the answer is clear.
