Low-Mintage Quarter Eagle with CAC Approval, Rich Original Color and Strong Collector Appeal.

With a remarkably small mintage of just 1,920 pieces and an estimated surviving population of only 250 coins, the 1883 Liberty Head quarter eagle is a notable Philadelphia Mint rarity and becomes especially elusive in high About Uncirculated condition. This impressive CAC-approved example is sharply defined as they come. Satiny luster remains evident around the protected design elements, illuminating warm honey-gold surfaces enriched by subtle rose and copper accents near the borders and lettering. Light scattered marks do little to diminish the coin’s handsome overall appearance which looks like an AU58. Its pleasing color, balanced strike, and original character deliver excellent eye appeal. CAC reports a population of 11 in AU55 with only 11 finer, while its CAC Price Guide value is $6,500; however, no CAC example has ever sold in history in any grade except 1 an AU58 PCGS CAC almost a decade ago for $7,800 12/18 HA.
